Légère bassoon reeds are long-lasting synthetic reeds which are becoming ever more popular.
The reeds are made from a specially-prepared polymer compound with a very fine microtexture designed to mimic the properties of damp cane. Because of the microtexture, very fine tips can be machined as found in a traditional reed.
We stock medium and medium-hard Légère reeds.
They work straight out of the box every time - no need to soak or warm them up, just blow.
Many bassoonists find that one reed will last many months, making the cost broadly comparable with cane reeds.
